My name is Giulia Brazzale, I am high school English teacher in northern Italy and this is my personal blog.
During my studies, I have developed a passion for Herman Melville, to whom this blog is dedicated.
I have always been a teacher (ELT for private language institutions or as a freelancer), but migrated to teaching in Italian state schools only in 2024. The change has been a real challenge, and has made me realise many things that are wrong with our school system. This blog over the years has become a record of my classroom experiments in trying to make my teaching as participated, nonviolent and non-authoritarian as possible.
On this blog, I write posts on the things I care about, including: teaching and education, veganism, books, bullet journalling, and my personal life.

- Animal Rebellion Italy awesome people who pressure the Italian government to do something to stop the current crisis and to recognize the rights of everyone, human and non-human.
- Sea Shepherd, more awesome people who work for a better, blue life.
- Anukampa Project, my virtual sangha and one of the first monasteries for fully-ordained Buddhist nuns in Europe. A truly magical place.
- A/I, the (very few and struggling) people who still allow for some freedom and privacy on the internet today.
